Are you involved in a non-profit group (anywhere in the U.S.), or just like to help fundraise for them? There are many good non-profit groups out there doing great things, and I know that fundraising can be tough, especially in a lackluster economy. Since my personal philosophy is to give back to the people that are a part of my success as a Realtor®, I have an incredibly easy way to add to your favorite non-profit groups bottom line.
The 5 minute Fundraiser
If you know of someone that is buying or selling a home anywhere in the U.S., all you need to do is pass their name and phone number on to me, and I will handle the rest. It's really that simple! The best part? For just a few minutes of your time, your favorite non-profit group will receive a generous donation at the close of escrow!
Here's how it works:
*Net Commissions Details
It's typical or customary for the home seller to pay a Real Estate Agent 6% of the sale price of their home at the close of escrow. The listing agent will split that commission with the buyers agent, usually 50-50, so they each get 3%. Then out of that 3% each agent will pay their Broker fees, which is usually a percentage of the transaction. Whatever is remaining after all fees are taken is the net commission. I will then make a donation of 5% of that net commission to the non-profit group. Please note that the commissions a home seller pays the listing agent are negotiable in many cases, so this is only a guideline and not necessarily the exact percentage that may be paid on the transaction.
The same concept applies for out of San Diego referrals. If you're not in San Diego, I will refer the client to another Realtor® in their area, and will receive a referral fee (usually a percentage) from that Realtor® out of their commission. I have to pay the same Broker fees, etc. out of my commission and what's left over is my net commission. I will share 5% of that also!
When you do the math on the sales price of a home, you can see how much money that can be donated!
